MEET OUR TEAM
Valerie Magrino, APN
One of the greatest joys of my career is the opportunity to truly connect with my patients, learn about their lives, and help them navigate life's challenges. I feel incredibly fortunate to have a career that is so personally rewarding. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing my patients begin to feel better, regain their confidence, find greater balance, and rediscover happiness in their everyday lives.
In 2017, I had the privilege of opening my private practice in the charming, close-knit community of Shrewsbury, New Jersey. What began as a small practice has grown into Shrewsbury Wellness Center, where we provide compassionate, individualized psychiatric care to patients throughout Monmouth County.
We specialize in psychiatric evaluations and medication management for a variety of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, and insomnia.
At Shrewsbury Wellness Center, we believe that exceptional mental health care begins with listening. Whether you visit our peaceful, welcoming office or meet with us virtually, you can expect to be treated with kindness, empathy, and respect.
We strive to create a safe, nurturing, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns, confident that your privacy is respected and your voice truly matters.
My greatest reward is seeing my patients thrive. Together, we can work toward helping you feel happier, healthier, more balanced, and more like yourself.
Office Mascot
Lola is a maltipoo (maltese and poodle mix). She is 6 pounds and 8 years old. She loves coming to the office and getting lots of pets from patients and staff!
Olga Esterov, PA
Olga Esterov PA-C is a certified Physician Assistant with additional Certification in Psychiatry. She was amongst some of the first to obtain this addition qualification over 10 years ago. She has had a lifelong fascination with psychology. When specialization in psychiatry became a reality for Physician Assistants, it was undoubtedly the path she would follow. But before practicing exclusively in the behavioral health field, she knew how important it would be to have a strong general medical background. Olga spent three years working in Internal Medicine and HIV care before fully pursuing her career as a Psychiatric PA.
Olga has been helping adolescents and adults navigate through difficult psychiatric/emotional states for close to 10 years. She performs psychiatric evaluations and medication management. She is available for In-Person sessions or Telemedicine visits. She employs an evidence-based medical and holistic approach to treatment - incorporating lifestyle changes, nutrition, and meditation/breathing/relaxation exercises in addition to medication initiation and management as needed. Her empathic nature and dedication to improving the lives of her patients has helped many individuals with Anxiety, Depression, ADHD and other Psychiatric Conditions.
Olga lives with her husband and 2 children near Red Bank, NJ. She enjoys spending time with friends and being in nature - taking any opportunity to go to the beach, go for a hike, go for a walk - but is also very happy to be home with her family - baking brownies, making popcorn (the old fashioned way), and curling up to watch a movie.
Maria Piantanida, APN
Maria Piantanida, PMHNP-BC is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who has worked in many different domains of nursing. She obtained most of her psychiatric nursing experience in acute care psychiatric settings and residential facilities, helping adults and children regain the independence and joy they once had but lost due to mental health issues.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Radford University and a master’s degree in nursing from Walden University’s psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program. Maria is dedicated to helping adolescents and adults develop the skills they need to live a fulfilling and enjoyable life and is happy to be a part of their success.
Maria lives in Monmouth County with her Husband, three children, and two dogs. When she is not working, she enjoys being outdoors, running, skiing, horseback riding, volunteering with animal rescues, and spending time with her family and pets.
Marla Jensen - Office Manager
I started my medical career back in Brooklyn, NY over 25 years ago. I have gained extensive knowledge in billing and medical practices across multiple specialties in both non-management and managerial positions. I joined Shrewsbury Wellness Center in June 2021 and absolutely love my job. While I have not had the opportunity to meet many of our patients in person due to the pandemic, I feel I have been able get to know many of them over the phone. My main goal is to make our patients feel comfortable and help them in any way that is needed. When I am not at work I enjoy all that the NJ shore has to offer.
